In December 2007 heavyweight contender Calvin Brock underwent surgery to repair retinal damage in his right eye. In response to questions from the media and fans about his return to the ring, Brock has released this statement: "I have been asked by members of the media and by boxing fans when I will return to the ring," said Brock. "Recently I underwent surgery to fix damage in the retina of my right eye and I am waiting for the damage to heal. I plan to return to the ring once my eye is 100%. Until then I will rest and do what is necessary to help my eye repair."

* IMOP, Brock should call it a career. If you look at his raising fight weights, it is apparent that he doesn't have the desire since the Wlad loss. He performed fine in the Wlad fight to the extent that he didn't run from him and tried his best.....getting KO'd when fighting back in a title fight isn't anything to regret. He got the most out of his ability.

I would have to agree. Brock hasn't been the same fighter since pitching face first onto the canvas vs Klitschko. His best days are behind him, and I don't see him seriously contending for another major belt. May be time to put his degree in business administration to good use. Who knows? Perhaps Bank of America will take him back.

I don't know about hanging it up but he does need to dig deep and find the desire to rebuild his career.
