British Baseball....its coming

The final touches are being made to the new professional baseball league in Great Britain, with full season play, newsletter and reports.

This is going to be one hell of a new dynasty..........

An American businessman along with British executives put the plans into place as British fans longed for a pro league due to the constant bad press relating to Britain's number one sport, football. Other home-grown sports were looked at to re-vamp, such as cricket and rugby but along came Sam Carter who put the idea forward for a professional baseball league.

The teams are now in place with a whopping 7 divisions consisting of 6 teams, it was decided to try and cover each region of the British Isles to connect to each fan base. Stay tuned as the league swings into play soon.

Pick a team to support see how they play and receive a regular newsletter updating you on the league news.

NORTH DIVISION
Newcastle Stallions
Manchester Panthers
Liverpool Renegades
Leeds Skyhawks
Belfast Lions
Blackpool Seawolves

SOUTH DIVISION
London Lynx
Brighton Orcas
Oxford Nitros
Surrey Wizards
Kent Tigers
Reading Saints

EAST DIVISION
Cambridge Bobcats
Norwich Hitmen
Ipswich Knights
Essex Pirates
Hertfordshire Stealth
Lincoln Mustangs

WEST DIVISION
Bristol Predators
Plymouth Armada
Bournemouth Stingrays
Gloucester Warlords
Worcester Ravens
Torquay Sharks

CENTRAL DIVISION
Birmingham Coyotes
Nottingham Outlaws
Leicester Scorpions
Coventry Storm
Wolverhampton Venom
Derby Bandits

WALES DIVISION
Cardiff Dragons
Wrexham Men-O-War
Swansea Vipers
Newport Rockers
Neath Blitz

SCOTLAND DIVISION
Glasgow Glaciers
Edinburgh Mavericks
Aberdeen Oilers
Inverness Blizzard
Dundee Silverbacks
Stirling Ice Cats

7 divisional winners and 1 wild card team qualify for the play-offs to see who will be crowned BRIT SERIES champions.

LOL, cheers.

By the way the Wales division has now been extended to 6 to bring it into line with the rest of the league, Bangor Unicorns have now been confirmed as taking their place in the league.

GO SCORPIONS!

Nice league btw - bigger than the BBL (British Baseball League) I use for solo play - that has 3 6 team divisions (North, South, Celtic )

Cheers mate, hopefully it will be pretty good.

Season start date is 10th April.

100 regular game season then the play-offs.

Everything ready to go, just tidying up the ballparks.

So the Leicester Scorpions and the Inverness Blizzard have supporters already. News and updates as and when they happen just two things being tidied up at the moment.

1. The Ballparks
2. I put a request on the Logo forum asking if someone could design me a league logo for the BBL (looking for the letters "BBL" and a British Flag with a baseball)

Just waiting for those and then its "SHOWTIME!"

I want to make a newsletter out of it, so if any British fans (or indeed anybody else) want to receive it then just pm me and I will add you to the email list.
