I recently made a trade with one of the new expansion teams in my league.
The trade involved a AAA pitcher from my team, who in the trade window was rated pretty average (4 in runs, 6 in hits) I got three pretty decent A prospects in return. After the trade, I went to both teams roster pages. The pitcher I traded turned into an absolute gem. The three prospects I got are now garbage. I've seen slight changes, but this was crazy. And if I am the team with the better scout, how come he botched this one?? When you are on a teams roster page, are you seeing the ratings through their scouts eyes or your own? And how come the trade window shows different ratings than going to the individual team roster pages? Which is more accurate?? Last edited by paperlantern; 10-16-2002 at 08:59 PM. |

The teams html page: I believe what you see here is a league default average scouts opinion, not the opinion of any specific scout in the game (meaning not your scout and not the other teams scout). The teams roster screen within OOTP: This is your own scouts opinion, and I think when viewing other clubs you see their players through their scouts eyes, not your scout. Quote:
. Since neither scout is guaranteed to be correct it really does not matter much which scout's opinion is displayed 1st in the trade screen. Quote:
.Online player tip: I have heard that the top 10 prospects html pages display the players real talent & rating (without the scout-view dicing), so if you are dealing with young players, that is a good way to keep up with those online league sharks. |
