Yeah.

But, even though it's a crime Blyleven didn't get in (again), he did get a career high in support.

Yeah, I concur. From the guys on this ballot, Raines and Blyleven are easily, in my opinion, the two most deserving. McGwire is third on my list.

Yea for Gossage, who deserves the recognition. Feel sorry for Rice; this must be like torture for him.

As much as I hate that Blyleven, Raines, McGwire, and Trammell aren't in, I think it bothers me more that Jim Rice and Andre Dawson appear to be a year or two away from getting selected. They certainly wouldn't dishonor the hall of fame (I think the Veterans Committee of the 70's took care of that already) but they aren't even the best un-elected players of their generations. It's especially mind-blowing that Dawson is doing so well compared to Raines when they were direct contemporaries.

I'm sure this has happened before, but what would happen if a guy retired, spent a couple years on the ballot and returned to the pros and played? Would his time start over, or what would happen?

If it starts over, the Twins should sign Blyleven to a deal, let him make an apperance as a DH or something and start his 15 years over. This is getting ridiculous.

...And you really need to make it more ridiculous by doing what you are suggesting?

He gets back on the ballot. Not sure about time. It happened this year with Rijo, the Reds pitcher.

The five-year wait resets if a player plays again - I think.
