PbP question
Couple of questions relating to PbP:
1. Am I missing it, or does the "SION Webcast" view not include the current pitcher's status/pitch-count info? EDIT: Never mind this question. As soon as the pitcher has actually thrown a pitch, I see that his pitch count (and strike% - nice!) are shown right below his name on the Webcast. And if my assumptions (below) about pitcher status are correct, I'm either guessing as to how much gas he's got left or I have to ask him, so having it listed on-screen is useless anyway. I think. 2. From the manual section 23.6.4 on Game Controls (Defense): Quote:
- In the section of the manual describing the pitcher pane of the SION Broadcast game view, it mentions that the pitcher status doesn't update automatically. Does this mean that I don't get an accurate status until I visit the mound? - Also, it appears as though I can only visit the mound once per inning. This would make sense, but I can't find it in the documentation. Is this correct? 3. From the same section of the manual: Quote:
One of the things I was looking forward to about this version compared to 4&5 was that there would be a lot of in-game strategy, as opposed to previous versions where most of that was cosmetic and things like behind ahead in the count didn't actually matter. Certain things that used to bug the crap out of me, like a slugger with a great batting eye putting a weak swing on a 3-0 pitch with men on base and 1 out, appear to have been fixed (I LOVE the option to make my guy take a pitch), which is great. Of course, right after finishing that post I have to post to complain -- down 3 runs in the 9th, with nobody on and 1 out, a guy with 14/20 baserunning instincts and only 9/20 speed pokes a single into center and gets thrown out trying to stretch it into a double. I understand that ridiculous plays like that will always happen, but it's very frustrating.

Anyway, gotta love baseball & its randomness! I may never see this again all year, but now it's happened in my 2nd and 3rd games. |

I just had to come back to this thread, sometimes life is just too good.
After the events detailed above, I decided Manny Hernandez (the aforementioned 2B) wasn't for me. So I put together a package deal with him and my star slugging RF whose contract was coming up and who didn't want to negotiate, for a stud 28-year old 2B that I coveted to have as my leadoff hitter. The deal went through on 4-11 and I happily went on with my season. Now it's 4-15 and what do I see on my news page? Quote:
EDIT: Oh, and if anyone has any actual input on problems #2 and #3 in my OP, that'd be great too! Last edited by wlight1; 01-07-2008 at 07:12 PM. |
