I'd love to see Bud Light giving the the A.J. Cartwright Trophy to the Minnesota Twins.... that's a TV moment I wouldn't miss for the world!

anyone else here as excited as I was to see the Twins play in Game Three?
I turned on the game, b/c i missed the start time, and all i see is the Metrodome backdrop and i get goosebumps. I remember when i was little and really didnt watch too much baseball. I knew the teams and some players, but i didnt care too much to watch the sport. Well, i remember my dad was watchin the world series between the Twins and Atlanta. I remember the Metrodome and a couple of big hits (everyone knows what i'm talkin about here)...well that was my real first moment in the World Series. seeing the metrodome backdrop in the playoffs again just brought some great memories. i really want to see the Twins win it this year. That would just be great. |

1991 was also my first World Series moment, I steal get goose bumps as well whenever I hear Metrodome or Jack Morris. Best of luck to the Twins.

My 1st WS moment was Joe Carter. As a Canadian kid, it was the next best thing to the Expos. Of course, back then, the SkyDome was THE place to be.

Agreed. When going to watch a game there, it doesn't "feel" right.

I keep hearing people say that the Twins should refuse the Trophy from Bud if they win the Series. Wouldn't that be a sight to be seen?

It would be even cooler if the Twins won the world series and Pohlad sold them to an owner from DC who relocated them before the 2003 season started. Er, n/m my pipe dream.

Very nice, Jason.
Too bad that would never happen, and that you're obviously filled with self-loathing for wishing such a horrible thing. Why don't you take back the Rangers, instead. Or go to an Orioles game. |

I'm just annoyed that 100% of the focus of griping about the Twins being contracted is being put on Selig, when the reason they were earmarked for contraction was because Pohlad *volunteered* them for it.

You've got a good point. Selig *and* Pohland should share equal guilt.
Pohlad is doing a really good "grumpy old man" imitation the past couple days too. When asked after the game-clinching win in Oakland if he felt any regret about his past offer to contract his team, he got all grouchy and said he "didn't regret a thing". What an ass. Jim Caple has a good article on ESPN.com that refers to the incident. Good ol' penny-pinching, make-your-wealth-off-foreclosures-during-the-Great-Depression, grumpy-old-man Pohlad. The guy netted nearly $2 BILLION from selling his banks to Wells-Fargo the past couple years. Buy your own damned stadium, you freak.
