Draft Pick Report Utility?

I'm running an online league that allows both draft pick trading and free agent compensation. Thus, it becomes a total $#@!%# to manage the draft picks so that everyone can see what picks they have throughout the year. Right now, I'm doing it manually. Since the draft picks are obviously tracked in the game, there's got to be an easy way to pull the data and show it in a report. Are there any utilities out there that do this?

That info is not dumped to .csv files, so it can't be pulled from the game. I know there have been multitude of requests to have such a report in OOTP 2008.

The next version of my utilities will include this, and much more. But, I haven't begun working on it, so don't hold your breath.

I think I've finally sorted how scouting.dat is organised and thus could write a function to dump out details you would like to CSV..

The structure for a player_scout report has the following in it.

Scouting ID (internal)
Player ID
Scout ID (-1 = SISA, otherwise it's the scout id from coaches.csv)
Scouting Date
League ID for Scout
Position (2-9 = C-RF, 11=SP, 12=MR, 13=CL)
Batting Ratings
Overall (Contact, Gap, Power, Unknown Super Power, Eye, Avoid K, HBP)
vs RH (Contact, Gap, Power, Unknown Super Power, Eye, Avoid K, HBP)
vs LH (Contact, Gap, Power, Unknown Super Power, Eye, Avoid K, HBP)
Potential (Contact, Gap, Power, Unknown Super Power, Eye, Avoid K, HBP)
Sac Bunt
Bunt for Hit

I have no idea why Potential Pitching does not include Wild Pitch (it's out of line with the rest of the structure and also out of line with how it's stored against a player in players.dat)

There are a few bytes I haven't managed to work out what they are for (as they are 0 for all players)

There doesn't appear to be a velocity rating for Pitchers, it probably gets worked out by stuff and there are no ratings for Holding Runners or the types of pitch.

That would be awesome. HP and WP talents for pitchers are also in the normal .csv dumps... I have no idea what they are all about, I just ignored them.

Just curious, though... how big a .csv would be produced? The commish would have to generate and upload it each time. I'd also have to do a rewrite probably, especially the dev reports, so it'd take some time to get it out.

Bizarre, I've just realised I've chosen completely the wrong thread to post this into. I thought I had chosen a thread about scouting, but I've chosen draft picks...

I can probably dump out the draft order as well if need be.

No worries about the draft order, I can get that from the existing .csv files.

I must admit I don't think I've seen that in the csv files. Which one is it in if you don't mind me asking?
