Help! My League Wont Load.

Heres the scenario...

Im playing game 5 in the divisional series vs. my most hated opponent, the Rangers. We win (Portland Beavers) in dramatic fashion, with a 4 run rally in the bottom of the 9th. The other divisional series was already finished up with a 3-0 series sweep by the Dodgers.

So I read over the box scores and continue on my business, the game begins to go thru the normal routine of saving the league. However, half way thru saving, my box locks up hard. I even let it sit for about 30 minutes, in hopes it would make it some how.. but no such luck. I power down, and come back into windows.

Now, OOTP4 will not load my league. OOTP launches, the 'loading league' screen comes up for about a half second, then the game disappears. No error message, nothing at all. Its like its not even trying to really load my league, since it goes thru the 'Loading League' screen goes so quickly. Normally it takes atleast 5 seconds to load my league up.

So heres what ive tried thus far...

1. Replaced the league.dat and the schedule.dat in my leagues directory with the one from the default league, Career 2002.lg.
This allowed me to open the game, but it was a empty gesture, since my playoff schedule was not there. Now the game will not open, again.

2. Uninstalled/UnLicensed OOTP4, reinstalled/licensed. Default league works fine, everythings ok. Try to load my league with all original league files intact, no go. Quik load screen, game disappears.

I cant think of anything else to try, seems to me i have a corrupt game file of some sort. Isnt there any possible way to tell which one is hosed and fix it?

Id really really hate to lose this league, i cant even begin to think about how many hours ive spent on it. I know i should have backed up... but this shouldnt happen.

Please, any help?

Xp, 512mb ram - 350 free, 8 gigs free on hard drive, latest directx.

Well, it sounds like you have tried all of the things to try and get the league running again. You already mentioned "shoulda backed up", very true and something that I don't even do enough.

"Shouldn't happen", true...in a perfect world exactly....but stuff like this happens with just about every program or is capable of happening. Really very little if anything can be done because of the variety of systems, etc it is hard to know what caused it.

In our testing procedures we have had VERY, VERY few instances like this and we are doing all we can to stabilze things even more, but the game is very solid and even the best of programs will have this occur from time to time. Hate it that you apparently lost this league.
