Do I try to trade him, or do I wait him out?

I have a pitcher in my online league that I just recently signed this past off season ($818,750/5 years). The year is 1931 in case you're wondering about the low price....its high for that era..lol.

Anyway, his ratings are 1 Stuff, 9 Movement, 9 Control and he is 33 years old. He is 2-8 so far this season but his era is 3.62..which is the best on my team. He's not giving up too many runs, but he's the best rated pitcher on my team. Its not his fault the rest of my team sucks. (we're in june and my team is 26-32, but i am in first place in my division by 2 games...my division sucks..lol).

What I'm wondering is, should I trade him and try to get some way better infielders to help me out on offense, or stick with him, try to score some good ones during the offseason (or trade someone else during this season). I would bet that I could probably get a top rated SS or 2B for him, but he's probably the best pitcher on my team (he definitely is ratings-wise).

Or how about this scenario I was also thinking about....Should I wait and see how my team does in the upcoming weeks before the trade deadline (being that I'm still in first place in my division) and if we continue to struggle and lose grasp of first place, try to trade him then?

Its a real pickle, I tell ya......please, someone give me some advice. What would you guys do?

STUFF = 1 !!!!!

If you can get a good infielder, I would trade his butt now...... At 33 he is probably about to run out of gas anyway..... I would try to get a player that is at least 5 year younger than him, and if one was available I would pull the trigger - NOW!!!

If you can get a valuable starter at a different position in exchange for this guy, I'd probably pull the trigger too. But, who's going to take his place? Since you apparently stink right now, I think the key is getting a younger player who is capable of being an every day player.

Yes, his Stuff is 1, but there are only a handful of pitchers whose stuff is high, most are low.
Anyway, I have put him on the trading block...lets see if someone bites. I hope I'm not screwing myself...I mean, I have a very young and talented SP that I just called up from AAA and I have high hopes for him, so hopefully he could fill in relatively nicely.

The stuff does seem a little low. But, I might be more tempted to trade one of the pitchers who is crappy to see if they good bring a decent player. I have seen a lot of stupid trades lately in my games. The computer just might bite.

Now, if you can get something in the offseason to make him expendable, then it might be a prefect time to dump him. Because, it is likely when he comes back in spring training his abilities WILL be in freefall. (or at least very very likely)

Sorry. I thought it's a solo league.

It's an odd sort of ratings set in this league.

See:

http://www.overlordsbaseball.com/rep...ayer_2770.html
http://www.overlordsbaseball.com/rep...ayer_5692.html
http://www.overlordsbaseball.com/rep...layer_593.html

4 of the top 5 SP in the league have stuff ratings that are abysmal. I have not cracked this nut quite yet.
