Umm...Trojan Horse in OOTP 6?
Hi,
I just purchased OOTP 6 on 8/28/07, installed the latest patch, and whenever I try to create a historical league from the Lahman's database, I get a warning from my Spy Sweeper that says OOTP 6 is trying to load a program known as Trojan-Downloader-Traffic-acc.com onto my computer. According to Web Root's site: Trojan-Downloader-Traffic-acc.com may manage files on your computer, including creating, deleting, renaming, viewing, or transferring files to or from your computer. It can utilize a program manager that allows a hacker to install, execute, open, or close programs. The hacker can gain remote control of your cursor and keyboard and can even send mass e-mails from your infected computer. It can run in the background, hiding its presence. I'm assuming this is false positive, but given the severity of such an attack on my computer, I'm hesitant to even launch the game again. Any idea on what's going on here? |

I cannot say what is going on w/ your system but I am certain that it is NOT OOTP that is causing the issue. It is likely a "false reading" of some sort. If it were a problem then many, many folks would have the same complaint.

Thanks for the quick reply. I did notice someone else on the board having a similar issue with version 6.5 (virus warning), so I don't think I'm alone on this one. Any idea on what the workaround is? Even if it is a false positive (and I'm sure it is), I don't want Spy Sweeper to think it's OK to allow such a file to run freely in the future.
The rest of the game is great, BTW. |
