Do fielding ratings change with recalc?
Do fielding ratings change during a historical league, when that league is running with recalc?
For example, in 1901 Honus Wagner can play almost all 8 fielding positions pretty well. He was a utility player during the previous three seasons, so that makes since. But later in his career he was only playing shortstop. Is he going to lose the ability to play those other positions later in his career with recalc on? |

I doubt they would lose the ability. I have experimented with the 1969 season and players receive ratings for all positions they played for any length of time, so I assume that if importing one season produces ratings for positions they didn't play in 1969, but they did play in other years, that they will always be rated at those positions if you run a historical league with recalc.
As far as if the ratings at any position will change from year to year, I can't answer that. |

The only thing I know for sure that recalc changes in regards to fielding is the primary position listed for the player. Don't know if it affects the ratings.

thanks guys. I'll check it out. With recalc on, this game is going to be very easy. I figured one way to limit myself would be to force players to only play their historical position.

I can report one change Markus made. For 1-year recalc, Markus has prevented a player from being rated at a position he did not play that season. (I don't know if the same restriction applies to 3-year and 5-year recalc.)
