Please somebody help me with my frustrating situation. I am starting a historical career starting in 1901. I downloaded Scott's revised lahman database which worked fine. I used Dave's schedule generator which worked fine.
My problem is the numbers for league totals. After exhaustive searches here, I found the ERA calculator. The only problem is that when I finish playing a season and run the calculator, I get "path not found". I can run the starting totals, backup the league, etc but cannot do anything that is post season. I have emailed whoever is listed to email from the download with no responses. What I want is league totals to start with for 1901. After playing with it for 5 seasons (1901 repeated), I cannot find a happy place where there are enough strikeouts, reasonable homerun totals, and reasonable batting averages, and yes, I am using 140 game schedule so the number of games is not the problem. I know this community has many people who have done historical leagues so if somebody could point me in the right direction or tell me what is wrong with my use of the era calculator, I would great appreciate it. Thanks in advance

This thread will give you my 1901 settings for my HOB replay. I too used a 140 game schedule until 1904 when I switched to the 154 schedule.

Keep in mind you must use the ballparks the same way as I do to get good results. I have just 2 stadiums. I for all AL teams and 1 for all NL teams. <a href="http://www.400softwarestudios.com/ubb/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=000277" target="_blank">http://www.400softwarestudios.com/ubb/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=000277</a>

One thing I think you need to make sure of to use the ERACalc is to leave the default path for the Master HTML reports to c:\LEAGUESITE.
I think if you change the path for the reports, it will not find them. Not 100% sure this is the case (I remember having the same problem when first using the ERACalc). The utility will find the league file with no problems for backups, etc, but the HTML files need to be in the default. Hope this helps (or someone will let us know Im wrong!) |
