Historical sets?

Are there any historical roster sets? I know there were some like '87 and a 70's one on 6.0. Is it just too easy and accurate to import a historical league with one of the databases or are they out there somewhere?

as far as doing it yourself, it really depends on the level of detail and accuracy you want to start with. im working on a 1986 set using Gambo's latest db, which lets you import players when they made their pro debut, not just their MLB debut, so you can a somewhat more realistic portrait of the minors.

but you also have to create the minors yourself, add staff, modify ballparks, tweak whatever ratings you want and set the rosters. it can be time consuming if you want something closer to real-life. if you care less about that and just want to play something straight out of the box so to speak, then it gets easier. just import a year from whatever DB you like, add a few levels of minors and away you go....
