Clinching Prevention

Hi All,Would anybody explain me,what strategy, applied in cornerwork prevents your opponent from clinching?I mean such strategy, when fighter having a strong lead would push away his opponent, that tries to clinch. Thanks for your advices.

I don't play the game, but I would assume any fighting-outside strategy would ultimately prevail over excessive clinch attempts.

Edit: Ooo...my first TBCB post!! Been on my mind since I read yesterday it's based on my old Avalon Hill favorite. Being an old guy, I too spent many a night with those fast-action cards and fine tuning my tournaments.

The critical moment comes when your fighter breaks through 20 points lead barrier within a round. Then there is a matter of couple punches-and you have a TKO or even a KO.I am a bit afraid that switching to outside fighting will reduce punching ability.

Fighting outside (defensive or offensively) is likely the best method of avoding clinches....As advice from his trainer / Mgr during the course of a fight....

And while this could in some instances reduce his punching ability....That is going to have to be sacrificed if you are more concerned with getting tied up...
