I was just taking a look at my league setup screen and I started playing around with the ratings system. I noticed there is an option to go the traditional way, reduced, and talent only ratings. I'm wondering which of these do you guys mostly use?
I think I may start using the reduced ratings system because it then takes more skill to build a successful team. Just wondering what your guys preferences are. Thanks!

Traditional in my HOB2 replay where I act only as league commissioner and let the cpu control all teams.
Reduced for my solo fictional league as I find it more of a challenge.

I've been doing talent-only. I play mostly fictional now, and I have fun kind of watching the players blossom and "create themselves." The less I know about them apart from their actual performance, the better I like it.
But you can be comfortable with any ratings system. Whatever you get used to. -- Louie

I use reduced ratings.
I would use talent only, but without minor league stats being kept year after year, it would be too hard to tell how good a player actually is. I hope this is added in the future. Todd [ 05-19-2002, 08:53 AM: Message edited by: TrueCardinalFan ] |

Reduced.
In the mean time for the talent only guys... Pierre has updated his minor league stats utility which can help you save the data. |

I've just switched to reduced, for a bit more of a challenge.
However, I'd like it a bit more if there was still info on lefty/righty splits when it comes to pinch hitting and stuff (particularly for the first few weeks of the season before the batting stats start to settle down)

reduced, although it's tough not having r/l info.
talent only is effectively like playing blind without minor league stats.
