AI drafting all pitchers

I started a historical league in 1901, with automatic recalculation of player ratings and league totals. In every amateur draft for the next several seasons, the computer teams will generally only pick pitchers for the first 2 or so rounds, passing on HOF type batters for mediocre (by early 1900's standards) pitchers. Is there some way to tweak this?

I've observed the same thing, and commented on it in the forum. Whenever it comes up, somebody will jump and and defend it as being realistic. I think it is out of whack, but I've just learned to live with it.

It does do that for a few seasons, at least in my historical experiences. It seems to even out after about a decade or so. I made a house rule that I cant draft a position player until either the 3rd round or after the CPU drafts one, whichever comes first

This is an issue that has concerned m as well. I actually charted like 50 years of first round picks and found that pitchers made up far too many of the picks, with even mediocre pitchers being taken over HOF hitters.
