Old player stats
Does the game automatically delete old player stats? I was looking into my league history and noticed that there are no hall of famers that retired more than 10 years ago.
Then I started looking at some old players and noticed that none of those that retired more than ten years ago had any stats at all. If you look at my awards page, none of the old awards list any stats! So I'm wondering if they were being removed from the HOF because they had no stats. What's going on here??? It also occurred to me that my leaderboards are all going to be wrong, too. I suppose I could persuade my fictional self that the HOF and Record Keeping Center all burned down in a tragic fire in 1983. All individual player history and stats of my league are gone except for a charred list of who won which award and for what year. |

Questions for you:
1) Did you change the League Level for LABR to Major League Level or International from something else around 1983? 2) Under Game Setup, Player & Picture Options, Retiring Player Options, is "Delete those who never reached the Majors" selected? 3) Do you actually remember these names from the early years of your league? If your answers are "Yes, Yes, No" then I think you might be seeing recycled players; to save space, the game deletes players who never played in the major leagues (or internationals, but not winter leagues) along with their statistics, and reuses their ID's for new players. If your answers are not "Yes, Yes, No" then I'll be moving along. Sorry to take up your time and thread space. |

No, Yes, No. I don't remember them, but that's mainly because I've only played this league the last couple of years. I simmed the first 90 years or so, and for the last couple, for whatever reason, just haven't looked into the history that much. I did look at the HOF and noticed all the players were recent, but I didn't think much of it at the time.
If it's deleting players who never reached the Majors, that shouldn't have an effect on this, should it? These are guys that clearly reached the Majors, and have even won awards there. |

Want to give this a little bump. I'm starting to think it's possibly a bug. If no one has a clue, I'll post in the tech support forum.

Could a mod please move this to Tech Support?
A few more details: Latest patch release. Windows. Players are deleted if they never make the majors. Nothing happened in 1983 that I'm aware of, but I don't know for sure that the stats weren't there until recently. They may not have disappeared until this past year. Full minors, added feeder league's in the mid-80's (though, after 1983, I'm sure). Simmed from 1901 to 1986, played a couple of seasons, simmed to 1991 when I expanded the league. |

I don't think anyone's going to move it, Neags; better re-post down in Tech Support yourself. And good luck.
