This will be the official sign-up thread for reader-created players for A League of Our Own: Canadian Baseball

Comments:
'League' moves a bit more slowly than other dynasties, as there's a lot of background to cover and keep updated. Therefore I'll bring in two players per year starting with the next (2012) campaign.

As the Association has no minor league system, you might spend time in reserve. Hopefully the players we create will be strong enough that the AI will want to use them right away.

Character Creation:

Create your player and I will add him to the list below. Simply fill out the information below - making sure to fill in all the needed info - and when the time comes, your player will be among the pool of players who passed try outs (ie- amateur draft.)

One note: The player's age at debut will play a role in how developed he is. Younger guys will almost certainly start in reserve, while older guys might start right away. If a player is 18 or 19, he'll be assumed to have come out of HS, if he's 20-23, he'll be a college man. Older than 23? Coming out of an industrial or semi-pro league. Note that unlike some other signup dynasties, the minimum age here is 18 years.

Another note: I will be 'implanting' your info on top of one of the game-created players to keep things simple.

Landon Michaels is a twenty-year old who left college to try out at CanWest Global Park in Winnipeg. Scouts quickly realized he was near tireless, with decent velocity and excellent movement punctuated by a vicious knuckler.

Michaels clearly hoped to be signed by Winnipeg, and with their pitching in chaos following Coture's defection the Goldeyes would have liked to have him. As it turned out he wound up being the first pick of the entire tryout/draft - which belonged to the Edmonton Fire Cats.

Harold Markham graduated from high school soon after the CA's inaugural season began. After playing semi-pro for a year to hone his formidable skills he traveled south to the main tryout camp in Fort Myers, Florida.

Scouts quickly learned to admire his ability to power into the 'gaps' between left/center and right/center. That, as well as tolerable instincts and excellent speed makes many hopeful that he'll be able to keep his new team's offense lively.

Markham was the third pick of the first round and went to the Toronto Pirates.
