Foreign Players Still Appear!!!

I am playing a historical fictional league beginning in 1871 with only Caucasian players only. My league settings are at O% for foreign players and no foreign players allowed. Also, I have modified the nation.txt and ethnicities files setting Caucasian at 100% for each. Is this a bug or am I missing something here?

LOL...thanks! It's my baby boy...he' soon to be five months old and is a future all-star baseball player and future OOTP2022 player on the side!

Can you show me your nations.txt line for whatever nation your league is based in?

Also, is the concern that caucasian FACES are appearing, or that players of DIFFERENT NATIONALITIES are appearing, or both?

Same issue here as well. Started in 1880. No foreigners allowed. 0% foreign players. Edited nations.txt and ethnicities as well.

I found a handful (like 3-4) in my league after the first season.

Not a big deal...just something I noticed.

Thanks Bats for getting back to me. Here is the line from my modified nations.txt file:

206,The United States,U.S.A.,USA,American,4,5,39,100,0,0,0,0,0,0, 0,0,1000,0,0

Also my league settings are no foreign players allowed and percentages are at 0. For my historical league I would like to begin with 100% Caucasian players to reflect pre-segregation baseball. How ever I notice as of late after simming through several seasons that foreign players have disappeared from my league as of late.

I also modified the nations baseball quality to non-existent as well to see if this would eliminate foreign players being generated.

One way that a handful of foreign players can creep in is through international scouting. If you don't want that to happen, you should disable "maintain hidden players" option when you start your game. (Unforutnately, that option can only be changed BEFORE you start a game.)

I wonder if that's where your handful of foreigners come from? It's important to note the country of origin for these players, as that can really help nail down the issue.

Maybe I should start my league over?

It was created before the release of the latest patch. I did notice the maintain hidden player option (ghost players) but unchecked it only after I started my league.

That sounds like you have hidden players turned on. This basically means that the game is generating players in those countries who are being scouted by the AI and recruited.

*Sigh*...well I've unchecked it and have noticed that the foreign players have abared somewhat. However, only having the option to uncheck this at game setup limits user flexibility.

Mine are from Cuba, Venezuela, and Dominican Republic.

I forgot about the "Create and Maintain Hidden Players" option under Game Options > Player Options. Don't think I unchecked it.

Ill try it again with it unchecked and see what happens.

Just as a followup....

I simmed 3 seasons with Create and Maintain Hidden Players off. No foreigners at all.

I restarted the universe using the same template, turned Create/Maintain ON, but turned off Use Full Scouting. It created the players (1 from Burundi, 1 from Venezuela, 1 from Dominican, 1 from Colombia, and 1 from Cuba)....They show on the Explore World option, but as far as I can tell, they aren't in my game. And if they are, I can't locate them.

EDIT: I take that back. With Create/Maintain turned ON and Scouting OFF, I found Alfredo Madeveno (from Colombia) in the Free Agent pool. Guy from Venezuela was signed to a minor league team as well (No Foreigners Allowed is set for that league.)

Well, I believe he said that no foriegners were allowed in the league, yet the Venezuelan was signed, so that doesn't sound good.

I'm not 100% certain of this, but I believe the no foreigners rule only applies to the major league active roster.

Yep. 'cept I figured "No Foreigners" applied to minors as well. Either way...it seems to work so long as Create/Maintain Hidden Players is OFF.

Not to revive an old thread but yes I do believe there is a bug. Foreign players are still being signed by the AI of Major League teams with those options turned off. Please note that I am running a league with no minors and still foreign players are being signed by the AI!
