How does the game handle traded draft picks?

Scenario:

Team A received what will likely by a top of the round 1st round pick in trade. Their pick will be toward the bottom.

Team A received a trade offer which will cost him a first round pick. If you click on the area to trade a pick, the game shows you a single first round pick. If you click to include another pick, the 2nd first round pick is available.

How do you know which pick is the high pick and which is the low pick???

I think I saw this posted as a bug, but I could be mistaken.

I believe the pick that is discussed in trade talk originally is team A's original pick, not the pick they traded for. Does that make sense?

Question

At one point in 2006 the manual stated that a pick could only be traded once, which would support Charley's theory. I'm pretty sure that's no longer true, though.

I tested yesterday and you can now trade a pick multiple times. The problem is that when you go to trade a first round pick, you have no idea if you are trading your original pick or the one that was trade to you.

Does anybody know definitively which one is the first one listed? Can the traded pick be identified (via Cleveland) with the next patch?

Same question.

As one who plays strictly as a GM, this puts a fairly large hole in my ability to conduct multiple trades using draft picks. Have to admit it baffles me a tad that this was not one of the (awesome) upgrades from the 2006 version. Seems fairly straightforward to simply make the tag that tracks the actual pick in the coding visible to the player GM's so I can intelligently choose which of the 3rd round picks I want to trade.

This has been brought up quite a few times before, it sort of falls under this tech support thread.

Hopefully Markus will add into the game a way to view draft picks in the trade screen and possibly in SION so a human manager can know what picks he has and what picks he is trading away.

I love to see as much attention to this issue as possible. For those of us that play with draft pick trading, this makes things very difficult.
