I was hoping he would slip to the seahawks. ANd Moss for a 4th to the Pats. NIce low risk/high potential move for N.E.

Just realized NE gave one of next years round 1's also. The price is much higher now, and I am not sure I like it as much.

If Moss flopped, they could have cut in in training camp if they wanted.

You must be the only person that has this info, even the ESPN crew isnt aware of this 1st round pick you mention.

They just showed it on the draft coverage, when they put up the display. It might have been wrong, but I swear I saw it.

It showed,

Raiders send Moss

Patriots send 4th, 2008 #1

Per ESPN.com:

Quote:
Convinced in discussions with Randy Moss that he believes his NFL legacy is tied to winning a Super Bowl and not to individual accomplishments, the New England Patriots on Sunday acquired the electrifying but enigmatic wide receiver from the Oakland Raiders in exchange for a fourth-round draft choice.

The Patriots are amazing.

What they had shown [stupidly on their part] was the trade between SF and the Patriots. It said how the Patriots essentially receive Moss and a 1st rounder for whatever they gave SF. They fixed this later by showing just Oakland and NE's deal.

I'm only saying this because I too was confused by it until I saw the niners logo.

So, the Raiders get rid of Moss -- a WR -- after drafting QB with one helluva an arm. You think the Raiders would be drafting WRs or at least signing free agent WRs.

The Raiders need to focus their efforts on rebuilding the offense. The defense is fine, but the offense needs lots and lots of work.

They traded for Mike Williams who will be a more productive player for them than Moss would have been if he stayed.

Excellent point.

And it also gives them a chance to put Jerry Porter back into play and hopefully get back into his good graces.

The Raiders definately need a goog WR/TE core, if they are going to play the passing game.

I like who the Raiders have grabbed on offense so far. They did great drafting Russell, rather than Quinn. They get a QB who can have in impact this season, rather than a season or two from now.

I am not a NE fan but that is a superb move for them. If he works out, the sky is the limit. If they get a wiff of him disrupting whatever they have going on up there just cut him. You loose a 4th rounder, wince a bit and move on.

Great trade for them in my opinion.

The Moss "disruptive" rap is waaay overrated. The Patriots will be scary good.

Brady gives Moss 1500 yards and 15 TD. Bank on it.

""!

When was the last real trouble he caused? When he hit that traffic controller downtown 5 years ago? Of course, if you ask ESPN, they'll mention the mooning, and basically saying what everyone already knew about the Raiders last season.
