Crash when slecting pitchers or batters tab
Ok this just started. I was in my league and my vista os crashed (blue screen). I went back into my league and even created a new league nad it happens in both - when I select the shortcut or tab for pitchers or batters the app throws the error below and kicks me to the desktop. I have uninstalled and re-installed - it still keeps crashing. Any suggestions?

Why did Vista crash? Sounds like you have other issues that need to be taken care of first. From what you said, it appears as though the Vista crash corrupted the league files...and possibly the game itself. First, make sure your computer is in top condition, virus & spyware free. Make sure the OS is updated and scan your hard drive for errors. Then try to uninstall and reinstall the game. Create a new league to be sure that the program itself is functioning as it should. Then post back if you still have problems.

Machine is in tip top shape - trust me on this one. I'm extremely anal about that. I have reinstalled the software and the patch and created a league from the generic quickstart. No matter what league I open with a manager selected or not - if I click the pitching or lineup it crashes.
What is the best way to clear OOTP off the computer and do a clean CLEAN install since the regular uninstall must not of cleared everything. In addition, as I think about it I never removed any files under my docs/sports interactive. Maybe something is lingering in that area. I'll check that tonight. But I still would like the best way to completely uninstall including the license or registry entires to kill. Thanks in advance. Minnelli |

Do you have access to another computer that you can install the game on? I'd like to narrow it down to whether there's a bug with the game or if it's something with your computer. We can explore further options once we know this.

Yep - I have it on my laptop and it is working fine. So we can eliminate any league file issue. I'm not at home now, but if we have instructions to uninstall license on vista, then I can uninstall software, maybe delete the my docs/sports interactive folder except for my league files (I can move them temporarily). Do we have instructions to do this? Or can I kindly request, because to be honest I'm not sure where the elicense thingy (technical term) is located to drop the license.
Just to point out the game opens the leagues fine. I can go to the home page of any team, the financial, etc. and it's perfect. It's just the darn pitching and batting tabs. When the machine crashed, some config file or something had to get hosed up. Since I did the reinstall and made sure my c:\games\ootp baseball 2007 older was clear - I would think it has to be some file in the my docs/sports interactive folder. Thanks, Minnelli Thanks |

Go to Control Panel, eLicense Control, Sports Interactive Ltd. Then right click on the game icon and select "unlicense".

Just an interesting fun fact - elicense doesn't open up within my Vista. In fact, I don't ever thing I had to enter a key or anything. It appears to open but disappears...
I'm trying a reinstall now - moved saved games first. deleted my docs/sports interative folder and application data. Minnelli |

Don't mind me, but just in case - does last year's advice about deleting the \data\tables\ folder still apply when certain player views are making problems?

Zeyes - I was just about to post and say I think it may have had something to do with the tables
![]() I have it working now, but as I was looking for differences thats an area that came up in my mind. I think when I crashed, the table file - lets say my custom batting stats 1 with age may have got corrupt. Hence the reason I could go to team home, roster and front office. However, when I wnated pitching and batting it would default to my "bad" template or table file. Great call thanks for the help. I had to reinstall in a different directory, but in retrospect I could have probably deleted 6 custom table files Hopefully, this may help someone else. Thanks to all that had input... Minnelli |
