Minor leaguers
I'm new to the game, messed around with it for a while. I have the hang of how everything works, but I still haven't found a good way to handle minor league players. I recently drafted Pedro Martinez in my historic league. Came in as 1* with 5* potential. I had him in AAA for a while, then brought him up to start a few games (went 2-1 with a 3.78 ERA), then sent him back down. At the end of the year his potential went down to 1* and his ratings decreased.
What gives? Do I need to keep them in the minors longer? Should I bring the prodigy's up early? Tips would be appreciated. |

Welcome to baseball! There is no definitive way to deal with prospects. The talent bumps and decreases are random, but if they are consistently performing well at a one level, then they can continue to develop.
I think that you should let players spend at least half a season at a level if they are playing well before promoting them to the next one. Seems to give them time for their ratings to develop and change. If you get antsy and start promoting people after a good month, it tends to screw up your players. I found that out the hard way. You can always go with the development report or minor leafue report, whatever it is. It can give you some idea. |
