almanac woes

I've read the manual, checked all my settings but have been unable to make the almanac display.

The program collects all the files at year end, I can click on them outside of the game and see that the information is there, the year of the almanac displays as part of the almanac tab in the game setup menu,

but when I try to select a year to take a look at those alamanac pages

nothing happens.

Any ideas what might be going wrong?

This is probably not it, but what the heck. I found that I needed to advance the game at least one day for the almanac/year selection to appear on the Almanacs menu. Maybe this is it?

I've gone through several seasons generating the almanac files at the new year each time.

The years show up in the menu, but when I try to select one nothing happens.
