Most HRs in a season

In my solo league, Bangor Ice Men's 2B Jesus Pena hit 100 HR in 2055. He was 36 years old and had a .358 BA, 207 RBI and 181 R. He started the season with a 15 for hitting home runs and ended the season with a 19!

The scout reported he "...he has what legends are made of..."

Anybody else ever see anything like that?

I had 73 by Sosa in 2004, and 78 by Dunn in 2007.

The next season Pena only hit 62, but he was hurt for over a month with a ruptured tendon. No telling how many he could'a hit that season; not 100 I'm sure but 80+ was possible.

also
I just noticed Pena hit 20 triples in '56 (the year after 100 HR). Not bad for a guy who had never had double figures in triples before, was 37 years old, and missed over a month of the season.

Josh Beckett just went a season undefeated. 26-0, 5 no decisions, 3 shutouts, 1 perfect game, 2.11 era!
