Mildly amusing news article:Tony Fernandez injured

I thought this news article was mildly amusing

"Tony Fernandez of the Cincinnati Reds was injured in today's game against San Diego and had to be helped off the field by the trainers. The initial diagnosis is a fractured ankle and he is expected to be out up to 12-13 months. It happened while Fernandez was running the bases and looked worse than it turned out to be. "It hurt a lot, to be honest. Thank goodness it's not too serious. I just hope it heals soon and I can get back on the field."

If being out 12-13 months is not that serious, I don't know what is. I wonder how bad it must've looked. What were they expecting?

What's his "intelligence" rating? Maybe that explains it ...

The team trainer must have thought that they needed to amputate the foot at the ball park.

Lol I love the ones when doing signing contracts with free agents. Like one said after I offered him a minor league contract:

"If I wanted to play in the minor leagues I would talk to a minor league manager, but, then with the type of deal you offer I don't think it will be long before you are one". LOL I laughed my arse off over that one.

I'm thinking of that Kendall injury from a few years ago when he was rounding first and his ankle dislocated. It looked like his foot had fallen off. Someone else had a similar injury two or three years ago. Lose-your-lunch gross.

Hmmm, maybe he was expecting it to be career ending? In that case, only being out a year is great.

Oh man, I remember that. It looked like his foot flipped around and slapped his shin. Damn, that was sick
