Expanding
My search came up a little light here. When exactly in the season can I expand? One thread said to sim right up to the end of the playoffs. but...the dropdown on the functions menu still doesn't let me do it. I simmed day by day until mid-Jan, but it never lit up
I'm using a historical league, beginning in 2000, simming thru 2006 (that way, the minors will be well populated when I take over in 2007). If anyone knwos, I'd appreciate it!! |

It should be available during the preseason or offseason, but I think, only if you don't have automatic expansion on.
If it isn't there in mid-January, I'm not sure why not. It may have something to do with running a historical league rather than a fictional one. I don't do historical, so I guess I'm not much help. cbbl Last edited by cbbl; 04-05-2007 at 12:06 PM. |

I figured it out....incase anyone else has the same Q......you have to turn auto-expansion off before you can force an expansion. Then, you have to move all teams into 2 divisions.....1 for al and 1 for nl. If you are doing this from 2005 on, you also have to move someone (Milwalkee??) back to the AL.
after you expand, you can move all teams back and generate a new schedule. The other thing you want to watch for is the rule 5 draft....if you want to go that route, you have to turn it on manually at precisely the right time. I hate autosave!!! |
