Ages and the Lahman database

When I import a historical league with the lahman database for the 2007 season (with 2006 rosters), how do I get it to import in the correct year of births for the players? Everytime I try to do this, it pushes their year of birth up one year. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure I understand how you're importing 2006 for the 2007 season. As you noted, the last year of the Lahman database is 2006. You would need to indicate that you are importing 2006 to get that final year of real players. When you advance to 2007, players would age one year.

I'm sorry that I don't clearly understand what you're asking.

Well what I am doing is starting a universe in 2007 but importing the major league stats for players from 2006 and it has every player in the league aged one year ahead.

Wouldn't that be correct? They are one year older in 2007.

No, what its doing is for example Brad Penny, his actual DOB is 5-24-1978 but when I import the 2006 season his DOB is 5-24-1979, Russell Martin RL DOB 2-15-1983 after import 2-15-1984, it does that for every player. I was wondering how to get it to import their correct DOB's.

When you change the start year from 2006 to 2007 it automatically changes the birth years. That is intentional, otherwise you'd have 80 year old players when you want to play the 1950 season in 2007...
