Scioscia

His decisions in game 1 were a little off base but all in all Mike Scioscia has done a hell of a job with that team. As a catcher he was a wonderful leader with the Dodger pitching staff. This ability has obviously transferred over to leading a whole team.

Kudos to Scioscia and the whole Angels organization.

you must be goin crazy?

Scioscia helped the Angels win that series?

I dont know, i think people here may have a problem with that. Last time i checked, that big fat contract they gave Salmon is what helped him improve this year. OH and Garret is just a bag of money with a baseball.

its ok...we all make mistakes. assuming that coaching, hard work, and dedication help win ball games.

in the end we know its about the money. money is the only factor in winning games.

....

Why don't you take your sarcasm somewhere else instead of posting "only money matters" on every single thread?

how about you say the same for those people who say, Money is what helped the Yanks win championships?"

really i see no difference between my comments and others.

if people wanna be immature and ignore that fact that money wasnt the only factor in helping the yanks win championships and then continously post about it, then i can too be immature and post my ignorance.

really i could care less if people think that, "yankeepride is acting like the typical yankee fan."

b/c guess what i'm thinkin? "you are acting like the typical yankee hater"

I don't have a problem with you posting your opinion on the Yankees, but keep it in the Yankee threads. This was about the Angels and Scioscia, not your bitterness over the Yankees ...

i never mentioned the Yankees in my post.

I only said that money helped the Angels win the series.

you and everyone else has said it helped the yankees win games, so why not for the Angels?

What bothers me the most is when people put the Yankees in a different class. When other teams do the same, they are not put in the same class as the Yanks.

THe Yanks paid money to their players...but according to people here, the Angels did not. It was all just hardwork.

I believe it was hardwork...but if people wanna believe that the Yanks winning wasnt hardwork and just cash...then i have the right to believe the same abotu the Angels.

right?

Wonder why we put the Yankees in a different class?

Could it be because their payroll is so much more than every other team's payroll every single year?

When you are in the position the Angels were in, hard work becomes the major deciding factor in defeating the team with better players (aka Yankees). You admitted in another thread that money puts the best players on the field. To overcome this advantage, the other team needs to work harder. I give a ton of credit to the Angels.

I gave a ton of credit to the Angels also.

i think you are confusing my real honest opinion and my "on purpose" ignorant opinion.

RHO: The Angels worked their butts off. They deserved to win. Congrats to them. I think Scoiscia did a great job. He made the right decisions in every game...even game one. He brought in that young kid to pitch in game one...he gets hit hard, everyone says it was a mistake. That kid comes back and dominates the yanks in the following games. Guess who just taught someone a lesson. That young kid will with out a doubt be key to the Angels success this postseason and in future seasons. what a great move.

The Yanks played like everyting was to be handed to them. Reason why i dont care if they lost. they deserved to lose. Yes they are my favorite team, but if you are gonna play like shyt, then you dont deserve to win in my book. The Angels reminded me of the 1998 Yankees and that was something i enjoyed watching.

My "On Purpose" Ignorance Opinion: The Yanks win every year b/c of money. Talent has nothing to do with it. Its all about money. The Angels won a game and pay money to their players. so they won b/c of money. its money that matters.

My remarks about Scioscia go way beyond just this series. That team would not even be in the playoffs without his leadership this season. He's a good manager...better than most. I was just getting that point across. Too bad we couldn't replay the season with Jerry Royster as the Angel's manager and see the difference. Not that I don't like Royster but he's not cut of the same cloth for managing. (It appears that way anyway.)

Scioscia could be one of the managers whose around for a long time.

By the way...I'm not a Yankee hater...I live in NY and grew up in Southern Connecticut...so ever since I was a little kid I've been exposed to them. In fact I enjoy watching the Yankees quite a bit. These days I don't have an allegiance to any particular team. I grew up a die-hard Dodger fan (yet I still don't mind the Yankees) but these days I just love the game. So my above post had no hatred to the Yankees. If they had won I would have OK with that too.

This Angels team and the Yankees actually have something in common IMO. Compare this Angels team to the Yanks of 96 & 98-2000. No superstars among them, but they all play together and play their hearts out. That's what wins championships.

Of course, I still have to root for the Twins if they beat the A's cause I would LOVE to see them stick it to Selig. But, watching the Angels this year was impressive.

i wholeheartedly agree.

i'm still pullin for the A's, Twins, or Cards...but the similarities between the Angels and the late 90's Yankees, has me "fearful" that the Angels may be in the World Series.

Does anyone think Disney is gonna want to sell this team now?

Buy low, sell high. Yeah, I think Disney will sell the team.
