Unlicensing an installation

Due to OS installation issues on my hard drive, I have to format the C: drive. I searched for license options (looked in Control Panel, install folder, etc.) but could not find an option to unlicense my installation.

Can someone please point me to the right direction?

Try

Start > All Programs > Sports Interactive > OOTP Baseballl 2007 > Unlicense Game

Edit: You'll need to be connected to the internet.

just go to start, then programs and find sports interactive and then find the game and one of the options is to unlicense the game

Does this mean I can move the game to my laptop if I decide I'd rather than run it there, is this how I'd do it?

You get two licenses...so you may not need to....as long as you've only installed it once before.

To answer your question...if you already had used both of your licenses and you needed to move a license from one computer to the other...yes this is how you'd do it.

Any ideas why I can't use elicence now? I was trying to unlicence 2006 but I can't seem to be able to do it. There is no option using the above method for 2006 either (there is for 2007 though).

I could care less about 2006 and just removed it anyway. I am concerned though about 6.5 as I may want to reinstall my OS as well soon and I would like to keep this game around!

Any ideas why when I click the elicence controls in control panel nothing happens? Has 2007 somehow altered it?

You may not be logged in as the administrator on your computer. At least that is what it sounds like.

If you are the admin...or have admin privileges & it still wont let you into the elicense folder...are you running inside a domain server(i.e. at work)?? That can also affect your admin privileges, on top of your personal computer.

I'm not sure what started the problem....I think I noticed it when I went from Win 98 to XP...all I know is I have never been able to use the eLicense icon in the control panel while using XP SP2.

There is a way to get it to load the unlicense screen....

You can right click on the shortcut for OOTP 2006, click properties. Where it says:
"C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\OOTP Baseball 2006\ootp2006.exe"

modify the end to say:
"C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\OOTP Baseball 2006\ootp2006.exe" -unlicense

Once you do that...click the shortcut and it will load the eLicense screen that you license and unlicense from.

Thanks a lot guys. I'm set as the admin but I will try what HolyCow is suggesting. I still play in 6.5 leagues and I have barely had time to try 2007 so I want to keep both.
