Need Some Help With Nation Creation
Trying to do a city league, and here's where I'm at in the process...
229,City of Austin,Austin,ATX,Austinite,4,5,0,63,1,31,2,2,3,1, 4,2 My understanding of all the first seven categories (through baseball level) is clear. In the above line, am I correct in that I should be getting 63% modern U.S. names, 31% Hispanic names, 2% Japanese names, 1% South Korean names, and 2% Chinese names? If so, from there, do I need anything else. The customization guide says no, but the last two bullets in the example are not very concise about what the numbers after the name values really mean. What, if anything, am I missing here?

You'll have to change your ethinicities.txt file to get whatever percentage of facial types you're looking for.

On the ethnicities, all I want is for the face types to match the namesets. Do I need to alter anything in that case? I assume there is some default in the game? And can I just leave all numbers out after the nameset data, or do I need to leave 'blanks', like so? 229,City of Austin,Austin,ATX,Austinite,4,5,0,63,1,31,2,2,4,2, ,,,,, Thanks for the help thus far.

I'm pretty sure you'll need those commas, even if you don't use those last fields: • "Values that are marked as “not required” can be left blank. However, you still must include a comma. " (from the manual) Also, in your name sets, you want the percentages to add up to 100. Yours add up to 98 (63+31+2+2). If i can go back to your first post; the bullets you referenced refer to the example in the manual. In the example they're only using two name sets for the U.S. ( 0= Modern U.S. and 1=Hispanic). That's why it says "the third and fourth name sets will not be used for American players".

So my line should look something like this...
229,City of Austin,Austin,ATX,Austinite,4,5,0,64,1,32,2,2,4,2, ,,,, That should be the right number of 'blanks'.

For facial types the program checks the ethnicities.txt file first. If you look at the default ethnicities.txt file, the numbers mean (supposedly): Name Set 0, U.S, (Modern) [which would be 64% of your players}: 40% would be African (black) 1% would be Asian 1% would be East Indian 50% would be Caucasian 8% would be Hispanic Total = 100% Hope that makes sense and helps you out.
