Newby needs help: import real players, but create fictional league
Hi,
I've got a couple of basic start up questions that I hope someone will have the patience to help a new guy out with. I've got what I hope is a very simple goal here: I want to import the MLB data base and start a 2007 season using 2006 stats as the starting point but create a fictional league (i.e., using the MLB structure, I simply want to change team names, colors, stadium names, etc. and hold an innagural dispersal draft and start there). Can someone give me a simplified step by step how to do that? I've been struggling trying to figure it out how to work the importing--especially in a way that let's you manipulate the names and hold an innagural draft. One final thing: I think, for simplicity sake, I'd be happy using a minor league system that was stocked with existing systems matched to newly created fictional Major League Teams (in other words, I'd be happy--probably even better off--having it set up where some newly created fictional team--let's call them the London Fog featuring say, Derek Jeter, David Ortiz, and John Lieber on the same team via a dispersal draft, was matched up with say the real St. Louis Cardinals farm system. I hope someone can help! thanks! |
