Question Sanitization .csv and access files?

Is there any way to include an option to sanitize the .csv and access files in the almanac options to not output player values that would normally be hidden from leagues using scouts (e.g. actual player ratings, rust, injury, etc.)

Those of us that use the .csv files in on-line leagues for some of the utilities available (HOF Monitor and Winshares is just one example) as well as for general use aren't able to generate them because it displays some values that should remain hidden.

Would an easy fix be just to have an option to keep the fields there but "zero out" all of the applicable data within the files?

Thanks.

I agree, this would be a huge asset to online leagues. Let me see if this has been logged.

If someone would let me know which CSV files and what fields NOT to display, I can write a quickie prorgam to remove those fields out of the csv dumps.

Sorry Mac users....

the downside to that, is that the commish would still have to run the dump. While it would be a nice workaround, having it in the game would be best.

Correct. I'm not saying I don't trust our (or any league's commish) but why not remove temptation and just have the option in game?

I'll take a look at the .csv files tonight and post which tables and fields should be sanitized.

One more thing to think about, the commish sets the almanac options for the league which then sets permissions for what will be generated when the league owners run their own almanac. That being said, the commish would set permissions to run the alamanac with the generation of .csv/access/SQL tables turned on allowing the other owners of the league to do the same. We would have to trust other owners to run the cleanser utility on their own which basically puts us back into the same boat we're currently in.

That's a good point. I linked this thread in the TT, so hopefully it catches Markus' eye.
