import from 6.5
I have been researching this board for a while and never found an answer.
I have a career that I am still playing on OOTP 6.51 and I absolutely love it. I have grown very attached to the players, etc. I want to import to 2007. What do I lose exactly when I import my league from 6.5? I heard I would lose some history in one thread. Another said some ratings. Can anyone confirm what I will lose? |

Make a copy of your 6.5 league. Import it into 2007. Check your history, teams, players, etc.
If you are happy with the results, import the original league and you're good to go. If not.....your options are somewhat limited. |

also a reminder, you will need to be at opening day to do the import into 2007.

I'm running an old OOTP6.5 league, and I'm wondering about the limitations on importing this league.
My understanding so far:
Am I wrong on the above? Is it possible to keep our current minor league teams and rosters somehow? I can export rosters/ratings/etc to CSV, but I'm not sure how I could get the minor league team players in. I have no idea how to get my league's minors into 2007 so far. Of course I'm completely new to 2007 and never played 2006, so this is virtually starting from scratch for me. |

Ratings shouldn't be messed up at all. Since 6.5 used a totally different minor league system than 2006, there isn't a way to keep what you had. You'll need to do the import and then add minor league systems after that. Keep in mind that there is no way for OOTP know how many levels of minors you want in the new system.
You will have to experiment with league totals. |

Yeah ratings will be off (+/-) 1 but the conversion will work fine. What you will notice is after conversion you're rosters will need to be set again. The ML and minors get shuffled around but it's an easy fix to put the few guys back to their respective levels. Just make sure post conversion that you do not sim 1 day until you reset your team to keep their service time, and options years from being affected.

You will not lose your current minor league system. Once you convert your league, add the same level of minors as you had before, before you start the game. Your rosters will be somewhat shuffled, just reset them without simming 1 day so their service time and otpions years are not affected. The ratings may be off (+/-) 1 with the new game engine. Convert your league. Click on your leagues name and add your minor league affiliates. You'll have to click on your leagues name to get the add minor leagues otpion each time. |

Download the manual and examine the section about converting a 6.5 league. It's got a pretty detailed description!
