Esthetically pleasing, that is...

A crisply turned 6-4-3 double play. A split-second ballet that is different every time, but always exciting.

Seriously, I think an acrobatic DP is pretty nice. But I prefer the emotions on a game-winning hit... even if it's a bloop-single (Luis Gonzales delivered a pretty good one last year

Most beautiful? Has to be an OF cutting down a runner at 3rd trying to go 1st to 3rd on a hit...or maybe a perfectly executed relay from the OF where the infielder catches and throws home in a split second to get the runner at the plate

Most exciting? A triple.

Actually, I like the 6-4-3 DP as well, but I like it best when its the bottom of the ninth and the game is on the line.

a masterful pitching performance. I've always been a pitcher, so I'm biased, but just watching a pitcher go about his craft, hit his spots, do exactly what he wants and control the game, is beautiful to me.

I remember watching Dennis Martinez's perfect game against the Dodgers in the early 90s, that was really beautiful to watch, I love games where a pitcher is in total control just dominating and throwing the ball exactly where he wants to.

5-4-3 DP. 3-6-3 DP. 2-6 or 2-4 DP.

Watching Barry Bonds refuse to swing at any pitch that isn't fired right down the center of the plate. I don't think anyone in baseball history has been so exciting just by standing there and doing nothing but concentrating.

Memory wise, I miss opposite field homeruns being a rarity and complete games being a common occurance among star pitchers. I miss 3 hour games lasting 13 innings instead of 9. I miss being able to watch a baseball game without falling asleep in the 6th inning.

I love seeing a shot into the gap and a player stretching a double to a triple...but it must be a close play at third to make it truly exciting.

Watching your manager walk off the field with first base after arguing a bad call with the first base ump. Okay, that's more funny than beautiful. The most exciting would have to be seeing a ground ball go straight up the middle, thinking that it's going to be a hit, and then seeing a blur that is the second baseman running across getting a glove on the ball, flipping the ball to the SS covering second, and the SS jumping in the air and firing to first to complete the DP.
