The FFL, a Fictional Future MLB League, Looking for 3
The FFL is looking for three very talented owners looking to make an impact in a league that is currently making it's way into the early part of it's 6th season.
The Basics: - OOTP6.5 league - Game Needed - $117.5 Million Salary Cap - 26 Man Active Roster - Two 'Feeder' Leagues, the UBF and the VL - Catobase - 2 leagues, 8 divisions, 32 teams - Player Ranker (it'll be updated If I ever find it again, that is!) - Run every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8PM, File typically available within the half hour and the report soon after that - Currently has 566 Player Photos w/ custom uniforms that are updated when players change teams Now, the Available Teams: The Boston Red Sox (20-9, 1st Place, AL EAST) The Sox are in prime condition to put up or shut up. With a solid core of outfielders, an above average rotation and a well rounded team, these guys have still fallen short the last couple of seasons. Still, with such a talented team, they must be considered very serious contenders, no matter what the recent past says. The Anaheim Angels (15-14, 3rd place; 2.5 back, AL WEST) The Angels are stuck in the middle after a few successful seasons. They have some quality players and the lowest payroll in the league, but they've just begun what will likely be a rebuilding phase. The Arizona Diamondbacks (20-8, 1st Place, NL WEST) The D-Backs could potentially win the NL West if they play their cards right and get a little lucky. They'll need to win the West, and their fans over, if they want to keep spending some much money. They have a good team, but it's a bit overpaid at spots with a 96 million dollar payroll (5th in the league) plus they've lost money for the past 4 seasons, only to come in 2nd place to the Dodgers (who, to be frank, were a powerhouse Yankees type team that now being rebuilt) in three seasons, and the upstart Padres last season. Still, last season has their best as far as standings go (finished 4 games back) and injuries played a big part in their falling short. Check out our site at this address. If you are interested in any of these three teams, you can contact me either here in this thread or at the BBSC Forums by pming Spindelsfw or posting in the FFL forum. You can also PM me here, or send me an email at spindelphia [AT] comcast.net

If you are looking for a stable, well-run league, the FFL is a good choice. As you can see from the above post, the commish puts a lot of effort into creating a fun league.

Here's a quick update on our available teams:
Boston Red Sox (38-16, 1st Place, AL East) The Red Sox are primed to win the AL East, as they remain ahead of Ontario, last year's AL Champs, by 10 games as of this posting. 9-1 in their last ten games, the core of the Red Sox lineup is performing great with the May Batter of the Month, Mike Grant (hitting .405 with 15 HR), and the May Pitcher of the Month, Joquin Gagne (going 5-0 with a 1.27 ERA). Gagne has asserted himself into early Cy Young conversations going 9-0 so far this season in 11 games. Anaheim Angels (24-31, 3rd Place, AL West) The Angels are 7.5 games back right now, behind Portland and Seattle in the ever competetive AL West. With no real standouts outside of Closer Troy Donzig (0-1 with 12 saves and a 1.26 ERA) and starter Wendel MacKenney (5-4 with a 3.68 ERA) the pitching and hitting just hasn't been there for the Angels. The Angels rank in the bottom half of most of the major offensive catagories, with the pitching ranking mostly in the middle. This, however, is to be expected, as he Angels rank dead last in payroll, and will have major flexibility next season to make some major moves in the Free Agent Marketplace. Arizona Diamondbacks (32-20, 2nd Place, NL West) The D-Backs, who are fiscally unstable righ now and stand to become about 7 million in debt this offseason, need to make a few moves if they want to get the club out of the danger zone. While they've spent freely tha last couple of years, it has come back to haunt them at present, with just over $900,000 in cash on hand. Much of this can be attributed by the overpaid stars on the team, Rotimi Akande and and Cruz Moreno, who are both elligible for Arbitration this season, and will get 1 year deals worth 28 million (Akande) and 19 Million (Moreno). While Akande could be seen as being worth 28 million, possibly, Moreno has fallen off the map and needs to be signed to a lesser deal if possible, or either traded or let go by the end of the season to save the Diamondbacks the money. That said, Akande and Cam Lucido have kept this team in the hunt, with closer Jim Brooks having another good season as well. All in all, the pitching ranks well among the top teams, with the offense in the middle of the road for the most part.

i agree with the knuckler, this is an incredibly fun league. One of the, if not THE best ootp league I was ever a part of. The only reason i ever left was because of problems i had with the rest of the site where they have their forums. so really, it was never the FFLs fault, because the FFL is an incredibly awesome league. THE best.
