New League Possibility w/help

Ok here is my idea. MLB went on strike and cancelled the 95 series. So I would like to start a new league with fictional teams starting in 1996. We can either use MLB players or use fictional players. First I would need a web master. Then we can decide on the rest.

I am thinking of a 24 team league. The rest of the rules can be worked out.

Here is my e-mail sko_dog@hotmail.com

Well the league would start in 1996. All teams will be fictional but I am not sure if I want to use real or fictional players. That can be decided by the owner group.

It's kinda like a rebellion league against the MLB.

World Series were cancelled in 94.... angry Expos fans like myself know that

However, I don't understand why you would like to start the year after... is it related in any way?

I'm sorry, you are right. The series was cancelled in '94 not '95. Therefore this league would start in 1995 with 24 fictional teams.

The stroy line is that the baseball world got fed up with the MLB in 1994 after the cancellation of the series. Therefore a new league started with 24 teams throughout the country.

The rules will be hammered out by the new owners group. So let me know if you want to join.

All teams would be located in the US as well. I will come out with a list of teams after I judge the interest in the project.

If you want to develope that story line make the league mostly fictional, but with a bunch of MLB players who left MLB to form this new league. It could be blended in the future with guys coming over for a few years.

Just an idea for ya.

how about a 15 team rebel league with all fictional players and a 15 team mlb league with real players and they would play only in their own leagues (no interleague play) but they would have an all-star game against each other and they would play the World Series against each other. sort of like the old days of football between the AFL and the NFL before they were combined. All trades would have to be between teams in their own league. If players wanted to switch leagues after their contracts are up would be fine, but until then. I think this would be a pretty cool idea but I am not sure how well it will work. I guess there would have to be alot of restructuring to do so but it would be a pretty cool thing to see if the money hungry MLB players could match up to a bunch of no namers (scabs if you will).

A good idea, but unique, its not.

24 teams?
MLB players sprinkled in?
Completely fictional teams?

Well let me know if there is interest and then we will see if we can kick this thing off. I am welcome to all suggestions and ideas, but I just want to start a league after the last strike.
