question about importing real rookies

I think i'm doing something wrong. I've got tons of experience playing OOTP in historical seasons, but now when I advance to the next year, then point the game to my c:/stats folder where the comma-delimited version of the lehman database is I get the message "no real rookies found". Its strange. I had problems with my laptop about 3 months ago, so I had to wipe the computer and start fresh, redownloading the database. I'm wondering if I didnt get a wrong version or something. This version has 2 different batting sheets..one is from 1876-1966 and the other is 1967-present. Is that right?

Anyone have any ideas on what I can do different? My historical career is on hold until I figure this out.

I guess I should note that this database I have saved to C:/stats worked when creating the league with historical players...its just not working to generate rookies.

Use the Arod23/Garlon DB's for historical simulations. We made alot of edits to deal with the quirks of importing from the straight Lahman DB. If you still would prefer to use Lahman you should get the Lahman53 DB. You need to have a single Batting.csv file instead of a split file.

Arod23/Garlon DB's

Duplicate Players

Once I imported rookies from the AROD23GARLON, I noticed a couple of duplicate players. How should I proceed if I want to remove?

Release from their team. Go to Free Agents, click on the player and select "Delete".

iws8 - don't mix and match DB's. For you to have ended up with duplicate players you must have started your leagu with one DB, like Lahman, and then switched to Arod23/Garlon for rookies. Use Arod23/Garlon for the initial import and then the Career Avg for rookies and you won't get any duplicate players, ecept for two-way guys like Babe Ruth. In those instances you will get a George Ruth the pitcher and a Babe Ruth the OF'er.

Thanks for all the help. I had to mix databases since I started a 1984 season using Lahman's, but when I tried to import the rookies for 1985 using Lahman it would not import any real rookies. At that point I tried Arod23Garlon and i was able to import. Thanks again!

Using Lahman's Database To Import Real Rookies

Since I cannot delete the duplicate players on other teams, I need to try to import rookies using Lahman's database to avoid duplication. It does not seem to import any real rookies when I use that database, could anyone please let me know where I may be going wrong. Thanks.
