Are you sure that it is the generic database? Check for the "exact" path. What version of the game are you using? The league you are creating must have a "unique" name, not one already used.

I downloaded the database from Tresclub, and I used a different league name.

Also (Scott) is the exact name of the folder the database is in. I dont have a folder inside the (Scott) folder.

. Also, path errors are common here, double check there is a "C:\Scott" directory ("Scott" folder on the C:\ drive). If neither of those initial idea's apply to your problem, then maybe someone else has some solutions... in the meantime maybe give some system info too. If you are running a network-y version of windows (NT or XP or L1) and have some permissions set up that could cause a similar type of error. Also, if you do not have enough free hard drive space the Lahman import will crap out. There are other more rare causes for that type of error message, but I'll stick to the common reasons 1st to avoid alarm .

Ok I got it figured out. My path to my database was wrong at first. then I changed the path but tried to create a league with a name that i had used with the wrong path. So i had to delete the league and create it over.
thanks guys |

This is a common oversight. That error message almost always means that there is already an existing subdirectory with the same name as that of the league that you are trying to create.
