New to forum...needs help please!

Hello to all forum members,

Sorry, I originally posted this in the mods section because that is where I usually browse for new HW data. I moved it over here where it belongs. I hope somebody here can help me.
I am new to this forum but have been playing this boxing simulation since the 80's when it was distributed by Lance Haffner Games. I am sorry if I am posting this in the wrong spot, but this is one of the main threads that I have been browsing since I am a HW universe person. Thanks for all the great data, pics and info: LeeSkye, Rocco, Icetea. I have downloaded a lot of stats done for older HW from Lee and Rocco. I love the new data for the newer HW by Icetea.
I have gathered a lot of data to start my own HW universe, but suddenly, last night, my auto-scheduler stopped working. I can auto-schedule fights for a manual A fighter vs computer generated B fighters. But I cannot auto-schedule comp gen A vs comp gen B. It doesnt matter how many bouts, from 1 to 999. I have the year 1950, repeat each bout 1, compare only identical, although I only use the HW division and I have tried each option, and update fighter records checked on the general settings screen. I have both corner settings to all and HW. These are the same settings that I had been using with no problems in the past, however, it just stopped working last night. I dont even receive a popup screen telling me why it isnt working. Anybody else have the same problems?

Other problem:

1. I have downloaded a bunch of fighters from this forum and adjusted all to active. When I use the auto-scheduler, a popup screen shows up at times telling me that the trainer and cutman GUID cannot be found. What do I need to do to solve that problem? It still runs after pressing each button several times but it can be a hassle when I want to mass generate fights.

For the Trainers and Cutman problem, I've had this happen to me before all you have to do is assign the fighters cornermen and it should stop popping up.

As for the auto-scheduler, I'm not sure what could be wrong. You said that you're using active fighters right check to make sure the Era is set to active or all. Also, you could try click the get settings from button and see if that helps.

First off welcome to the Forum btown, always good to have another fan here in the Basement.

Could you post a screen shot of your setup, that might help someone figure out what the problem is....

In response to romdawg88: thanks, i will try that, but that means that i have to find and individually input the HW fighters that i imported, which is a ton. The buttons are on active and HW. Thanks again.

In response to lee: thanks also, i would love to but i tried to take a couple of pics and it doesnt come out focused. i already tried to reinstall the program and that helped to solve a problem i was having before simulating an individual "start fight." I was getting a popup saying that the individual data could not..., and after i pressed the button the sim would start. After reinstalling, that bug left but i still cannot get the auto-scheduler to work.

General Setting Page:

allow fighter to fight himself - unchecked
schedule each fighter only one time - unchecked
save bout logs to disk - unchecked
update fighter records - checked

repeats each bout - 1
max number of bouts to schedule - ive tried from 1 to 999
year of event - blank
max rating difference - blank (i use this as i get further along)
gender - men (only use men)

combine divisions - combine only similiar (i am using a database of only HW and have erased all other fighters. it has always worked in the past so i know this isnt the problem.)

year of random fightdate - 1950 (i start my universe in 1950 and progress)

month of random fightdate - blank (i use this as i progress)

Red Corner and Blue Corner Page:

Let the scheduler select fighters - checked
Group - Men
Era - All or Active (i have adjusted all my fighters to active)
Division - HW (i only have a HW division)

I adjust the ratings and rankings as i go along.

Fight Options Page:

Only adjust this page according to what organizations rules i am fighting under. I adjust the date for individual fights.

I hope someone can understand this info. As I stated in my earlier post, the scheduler was working fine until last night. Now, I cannot continue mass scheduling.

Check the box on the fighter screen for each fighter and make sure the box for "include in autoschedules" in the lower righthand corner didn't get toggled off somehow.

Try the other two settings on combine divisions

Also try changing the division to all

Looking at your settings I can't think of anything else to try

Update - Thanks romdawg, I spent some time last night going over all my fighters individually and put real trainer and cutman names in the fighters that i imported. These fighters had generic offense, defense or trainers and generic cut ratings. This seemed to solve the problem i was having with the popup GUID not found. I still couldnt figure out what was wrong with my other problem. Like I said, I went over each fighter and I did make sure that each box was checked, thanks mh2365. I got feed up so I uninstalled and reinstalled the program and the auto-scheduler started working at about 3 a.m. my time here in California. Dont know what was wrong, maybe it was my computer and not the program because i have been having some trouble lately. Anyways, thank God I can continue to sim my matches and thanks to the people who tried to help me.

I was just wondering if anybody uses MMA fighters in their boxing universes? Or just use their pictures for their fictional fighters. I know that I use their pics for some of my own created fighters and I create some fighters such as Quinton Jackson, Chuck Liddell, Fedor Ememlianenko. Use ratings based on how they fight in MMA.

Jeff1787 - I really enjoy reading your BBA. Keep up the good work.

And to anybody else that has more modern HW fighters data - please let me know where I can download your info from. Like I said in the previous post in the New HW rated thread, I have imported HW from LeeSkye, Rocco, Icetea and they have really improved my HW db. I also imported the Commonwealth and Rocky packs. Thanks again to all of you who spend the time to create these fighters for the rest of us to enjoy!
