Recommended Photopacks?

Are there any recommendations for photo packs?

I'm looking for an MLB facepack, and a historical facepack.

Any suggestions?

I should say that the historcial I'm looking to start is in the early 1900's.

Wrightwing or Gambo sets should get you what you need.

If you are using Cubby or Erich's rosters there will be a better alternative soon enough. My first attempt is available at modsquad but my 2nd pic pack will be coming before too long and is much better

AUPhoto used WW's collection and makes it easier than stealing candy from a baby. Not that I would do that. Too often that is.

there will still be many missing pics though. that's the only bad thing about WW's set in a current roster set

Well, if people would use my built in Google search and send me the new pics they find, we would build a complete as can be collection. Not one person ever sent me ONE pic...

coming from someone that's built a pic pack, google searches are actually not that rewarding. many times I have been shut out when searching by the player's name and have had to research their college or former teams to find a pic

I guess you like most of your minor leaguers to not have a pic huh?

I used your first pic pack and it is perfect for the Rolen rosters. Looking forward to the update.

Thanks bp... I definteily think the 2nd release will be a marked improvement. I have been more particular in the pics I have searched for. and of course with it being a 2nd release I think I have gotten a much better feel for croping and resizing as well

The Gambo set has more photos than any other. Honestly, it's simply because I got permission from WW, TigerFan et al to use their photos. Also, we have been running a thread for months now (Gambo photopack @ rapidshare) continually adding photos to the collection. We are up to 13,000 players, with only 3,000 missing. 1/3 of that 3000 is pre-20th century players.

but correct me if I am wrong, this is a historical pack correct? So if used with Rolen or Cubby's sets there will be lots of missing minor leaguers?

Yeah. I was more answering Jordan's question. Our set pretty much only covers to 2005 so the minor leaguers would be missing. I'd say suplement ours with whichever is the best "current" photoset.

NP just was clarifying because he mentioned both a historical and current set.

Hey, APujols, if your current pic pack is in ootpmodsquad, it is listed under your name or someone else's? I didn't see it under "photos" with your name as the creator.

Also, is there a target for releasing your updated version? I'm using DraftDoger's pics, which are fine as for as they go, but I've spent many hours searching out minor league photos to supplement his major league pics. I can honestly say that I now understand how hard it is to find decent minor league player photos. For instance, the Reds recently added David Shafer to their 40 man roster but there's still no picture of him anywhere on the web (at least that I can find).

It's the BigDog Photo Pack I believe.

bp_ is correct....

as far as the next version goes, I have about 2000 more pics to resize to have MLB-AA done. I will probably release an update at that point

there's David Shafer for you though...

Also Cooker, or really anyone... If there's a particular player you want right away, Please just let me know

Hey APujols, thanks! In my solo game, I got Shafer in a trade with the Reds and he's had big talent boosts. He's currently a set-up reliever on my 2006 Indians (in mid-August). He's the only guy on my ML roster without a photo. I can't tell you how pleased I am to have a photo of him. It's the little things like this that make playing OOTP more fun.

So thanks a bunch! (Looking foward to your expanded photo set!)
