Bug in play-by-play

Example: Who's on first, What's at bat.
What grounds into dbl-play, fielders throw to second, then to first, and the game writes something like "but they got just one: Who breaks it with the great slide!" But Who's out, and it's What who "breaks it with the great slide".

no... in baseball it's who, who would break it up with the great slide.

What happened is the team was trying for a double play. So when who realized he'd be out at second, he slide to try and take out the fielder. He was successful, which broke up the double play. As a result who was the individual who broke up the play, even though he was put out. Because he sacrificed, he allowed what to reach first.

Sorry then.
But what do you mean by "take out the fielder"?
I'm new to baseball so please don't be too surprised by my ignorance.

"who" is the runner on first and on any groundball that may turn into a doubleplay it is his responsibility to try to "take out the fielder" which on this play will be either the SS or 2Bman that recieves the throw at second for the first out. He does this by sliding directly at the player so he cannot get off a good throw. This forces the defensive player to either jump over him and throw or try to throw while moving to the side or throw while being hit. As long as the baserunner can reach the base with any part of his body the slide is legal. IF he cannot reach the base the slide is illegal and the umpire will call interference and the batter running to first will be out.

New to baseball, eh. Cool. Alot of the fun of the game is learning all the little things that go on in a game that the average guy doesn't even consider. Most of the people that think baseball is boring or don't like to sit through a good 2-1 pitcher's dule probably don't really understand the game and all the strategy and little things that are going on as the game developes. There's always something new to learn even for us guys that have been watching for over 30 years.

take out the fielder = attempt to make the fielder unable to throw the ball to first to complete the double play.

Hope this helps.

Seems to me that baseball is not a team, but rather individual sport. If in soccer or ice-hockey or any other team sport the main thing is not the quality of players, but the way they all interact with each other on the field, and it's possible to have average players making a good team and vice versa. Not like in baseball. That's my opinion as a newbie.

BTW, don't you know some places on internet where I can watch baseball games live? I found many audio, but none video, while my friends watched FIFA World Championship in the internet-cafe.
