Phillies Fever, Official 2006 Style

Oh yeah, time to get this party started, eh?

Things to look forward to:

Chase Utley

A starting rotation without a single southpaw. Of course, Randy Wolf might be back August or something.

Aaron Rowand covering for Bull 2, the sequel aka Pat Burrell in left, as well helping out Gold Glove right fielder Bobby Abreu.

Jimmy Rollins taking a run at the hitting streak.

Things not to look forward to:

David Bell.

David Bell.

David Bell.

In case I forgot, David Bell.

Oh yeah, David Bell.

I'm going to go out on a limb and predict this is the year the Phils get back to the postseason by unseating the Braves in the NL East.

Shouldn't this thread be "Phillies Phever"?

And enjoy Aaron Rowand, he's a lot of fun to watch out there in centerfield.

I'm really looking forward to this season. I've been mulling around getting a 6-game ticket pack to get to some games this year. I can't wait to see what Howard and Floyd can do if they are given a full season. I feel kinda back about Franklin getting pushed to the pen, but we'll see how that all fills out.

Oh, and I'm hoping that Chris Coste becomes the Reno Mahe of the Phillies.

Let's all pause a moment and remember Ed Wade.

Let's take nominations for Ed Wade's greatest move.

I nominate snatching up pitching stalwart, Paul Abbot, in 2004. Without Paul, we wouldn't have been able to crawl out of the cellar.

As long as David Bell is a starter for this team we'll be lucky to finish third or higher.

You'll be rooting for the Phils to win. They'll be taking on the most hated athlete in sports, Barry Bonds.

Yeah, but the Giants also have Ray Durham. That guy knows how to win.

Playing alongside Bonds has corrupted him.

You've got to take into account the chemistery between Felipe and Moises Alou though. That alone gives the Giants a shot at going all the way.
