How many pitchers have you used in a season?

With the San Diego Padres using 31 pitchers so far throughout their pitching staff this year, it got me thinking what is the most amount of pitchers you have used in a single season.

So far in the 2011 year of my career league simulation, I am controlling the Houston Astros and I currently have used 19 pitchers at the major league level. I have more pitchers I'm looking at calling up who are doing well at the AAA/AA levels because a lack of performance by the bullpen and the lower half of the starting pitching staff. Right now I just surpassed the All-Star break and these are the current stats for my pitchers.

I haven't tracked it, but I know one season I had 4/5 of my starting rotation down at the same time. Boy was that a LONG couple of weeks.

I haven't had a lot of injuries to my team, but, a lot of my starting pitchers and bullpen who have solid ratings 4/5/6/7 are not performing as well as I thought they should. My payroll of my ballclub is under $30 million(27,223,400) and I'm right now at a 72-44 record. But with a young, youthful pitching staff and a very developed AAA/AA system in pitching, I have a lot of options to go to and stuff. Right now in mid-August, I have used 22 pitchers and I figure to use about 25 pitchers by the end of the season, which should give me a good idea on who will be up there next season.

Here are the end of the season totals for my pitching staff... All together, I used 22 pitchers through the course of the season. And I can't imagine anyone being able to reach the pivotable number of 31 pitchers that the San Diego Padres have used this year.

i usually use maybe one extra starter and about 3 extra guys in the bullpen from the minors in one season. So that would be 16.
