Dealing with a prospect with good talents hitting and pitching
So.....there's a guy in my A ball roster that has good talents both pitching and hitting. His talents at batting are AGFAGA, and at pitching they are GAAAG.
Has anyone run across a player like this before, and how did you deal with him? Is it possible for him to go one half of the season in the minors as a pitcher, and the other half as a batter and turn out good in both later on in his career, allowing him to be a great hitting pitcher? By the way, if you don't know who this is, it's Zach Greinke in KoD's latest roster set. |

There is a very minor bug in the game that most will never notice, and that is related to historic season pitchers that have good batter ratings. If you teach them a defensive position successfully and change their primary role from pitcher to their new defensive position the AI will change him back to pitcher on it's own as soon as you begin simming. That seems to mean that the pitcher will not get a good chance to develop his batting skill ratings (if they are low). Not positive of that fact, my only experience with this is a historic league pitcher with G/A/G/G/A batting talent, who after 4 years in the minors is not getting any better. He is in the batting lineup but still lists pitcher as his primary role.
The devel of players in historic leagues seems to be quite a bit different from fictional leagues too, so maybe my scenario only applies to historical leagues. For fictional leagues I have yet to see a non-edited pitcher with good batting talents. |

The thing is that the guy came in the roster set as both a pitcher and a SS. I believe his range at SS is a "B".
I haven't tried changing his primary position, but I might now. |
