I made it to the end of my 1935 season...in which an aging Babe Ruth won his fourth MVP at the ripe old age of 42....

My best pitcher...who I was trying to re-sign all year....decides to "test" free agency. He is the Cy-Young winner which makes it even more dis-heartening. The day comes for players to file for free agency...and shockingly...he does not even appear on the hot free-agent prospects list...

Then...I see that the VERY day that they filed for free agency he signs with a foreign league for a big chunk of money...and apparently...according to the news story...they have been "scouting" him for some time...

Scouting? They have been calling him every night after he finished having dinner with my family. He was sleeping with the enemy this whole time! I was betrayed! The worst thing is that I don't even get compensation because he signed with another league.....I hope he breaks his arm next season!

Remember, you are a god and can disband the other league with your godlike skills if you wish. Warn them and perhaps they will relinquish your favored pitcher.

Sounds like that would be cheating in the world he has setup.

thats just fantastic... just another reason this game rocks...

though I must say - I may not have handled it as nicely.

You should have bought him a copy of Mr. Baseball with Tom Selleck to scare him into staying in the states.
