Free Agent Signings?

Another question:

I signed a free agent (Stephen Drew) to a Major League deal, yet I can't seem to locate him on my roster. He signed the contract, is not on the Free Agent list anymore, other teams are asking for him to be added in trades, yet he isn't on my 25-man roster, 40-man roster, or any of my minor league teams.

Where would he be? Does it take a week or so for him to be added to the roster or something?

Just figured it out. He was DFAed after I signed him, has two more days until he's added.
