Cities/Nations file request
Would it be possible for some wonderful person to create something akin to Markmeister's Regional Historical Mod for me? (Or at worst, someone tell me the specifics of doing so for myself.)
I'm looking to create a world such as the following: MLB never expands west, leaving that area to the PCL. It also never really develops much in the south, leaving that area ripe for several independent leagues. There are a few other independent leagues based around the nation, as well as a few international leagues. I'd like each league to encompass specific states, with a certain percentage from some states and other percentages from other states. Is that possible? I'd also like one league to even just be drawn from among specific towns in one state. Can this all be done? |

Create a bunch of new nations for nations.txt Example: 240,New England,U.S.A,USA,American,4,5,0,71,1,27,2,2,, 241,Old Confederacy,U.S.A,USA,American,4,5,0,71,1,27,2,2,, 242,Great Lakes,U.S.A,USA,American,4,5,0,71,1,27,2,2,, 243,Great Plains,U.S.A,USA,American,4,5,0,71,1,27,2,2,, 244,Rocky Mountains,U.S.A,USA,American,4,5,0,71,1,27,2,2,, 245,Pacific Coast,U.S.A,USA,American,4,5,0,71,1,27,2,2,, Delete nation 206, The United States. You can tinker with baseball quality and languages to suit. Next, use Excel to edit the nation number on all US cities to match the new nation #. IM your email address as I have a 330 kb zip file with this already done for every US city. A league drawing on specific towns from one state? You could the state to be set up as a nation. Example: 245,Ohio,U.S.A,USA,American,4,1,0,71,1,27,2,2,, I'd make the quality of the nation low, as the other leagues that allow foreigners could possibly draw from nation 245, and you probably want to minimize that. Next, add only the selected cities to cities.txt with the appropriate nation # Example: Howland Center,245,OH,6481,41.24,-80.74 Hoytville,245,OH,296,41.19,-83.78 Hubbard,245,OH,8284,41.15,-80.56 Huber Heights,245,OH,38212,39.85,-84.12 Huber Ridge,245,OH,4883,40.09,-82.91 Hudson,245,OH,22439,41.24,-81.43 Hunter,245,OH,1737,39.49,-84.28 For the foreginer percentage for this one league, you may want to set it to zero or close to it. You'll get Ohioans that are top notch ballplayers that are are big time MLB stars from nation nation 242, and Joe Sixpack Ohioans from nation 245. The 242 Ohioans will find top notch jobs, and the 245 Ohioans will probably stay in your city specific league due to their talent level. Last edited by Raidergoo; 07-22-2006 at 12:23 PM. |

Well, I've got the towns from one part of the state straightened out. Hooray.
