Well how else is Jim Edmonds gonna rack up wins!?

That's strange... really strange... really really strange... etc.

Bug: PH gets the win

Pinch hitter hits a walkoff homer and gets credit for the win. Perhaps this should be a new way of scoring MLB wins

I simply inserted the PH in the pitcher's spot and it's possible the game set him as the pitcher, which I would have adjusted in the next inning after the at bat.

I'm using the patch.

What?

I have never seen this one before.

Do you have the boxscore, and can you post a picture of it?

I posted on here where I pinch hit for a pitcher, scored a run, and the replacement pitcher of MINE got charged with the run plus the loss the other team got from allowing the run. My relief pitcher also got the win.

Oh, I see that battists sent it in as a bug already.

We really could use a screenie. If anyone can locate this, I would be much obliged.

It would do good to place the pic in the thread started by StyxNCa, if you don't mind.

All I can come up with is the box score from the game. Someone will need to tell me how to get a screen shot and how to post it on here.

Sorry. I raced on to two more seasons and didn't mark the game for a screenshot.

If you look at your screen after subbing a pinchhitter, the game defaults to considering this person a pitcher. I never bother to choose the dropdown menu and call them a PH. That's probably why the box score thought he was the winning pitcher after hitting the walkoff homer.

To copy the screen to the clipboard, press the Print screen key

(normally located in the top row on the right-hand side of the

keyboard).

If you wish capture only the active window, press and hold the Alt

key, then press the Print screen key.

You may wish to paste (Ctrl-V) the screenshot into a

word-processing program, such as Microsoft Word, for inclusion in

your document.

However, a standard image format is smaller and generally better

for distribution. To save as an image:

Click the "Start" button (normally located in the bottom left of your

screen), and then click "Run".

Type "mspaint" (without quotes), and press "Enter." This opens

Paint.

Alternatively, you can go to (in Windows XP) Start --> All Programs

--> Accessories --> Paint.

Press Ctrl-V to paste the screenshot. (In older versions of Paint, a

dialog to resize the image may appear; click "Yes.")

Press Ctrl-S to open the Save As dialog box. Type a filename in the

"File name" field.

For "Save as type," select "PNG"

If you cant figure out how to attach it to a post, email the screen shot to me.

My address is my OOTP board name at yahoo.com.

Markus took a look at this and couldn't find any problem with the code, at least not without some more information. From the game log, it appears that the player inserted Jim Edmonds as the pitcher, which is why he was credited with the win.

We'll do some more testing over here, but if anyone can replicate this issue, more information would be appreciated!

Pinch hitter wins

Love the game, but just noticed a glitch where a pinch hitter got a win when I won the game on a walk-off hit. The last pitcher on the mound would actually get the win.

Do you still have your league file? And would you be able to locate the box score and game log and post a screenshot?

OK, I need some help here.

I'm somewhat convinced there's a bug hiding in here somewhere, but I can't replicate the brat.

In the substitution screen, if you drag a position player over the pitcher's slot in the lineup (bottom left), they should be automatically set to "PH". It sounds like some people are seeing that get set to "P" by mistake, possibly generating a message like "You have put a position player in as a pitcher."

In this case, if the player hits a walkoff hit, he is credited with the win.

But, I can't seem to get the game to make this mistake (of listing the position player as the pitcher.)

Can someone give me some precise steps they take, that would replicate this issue?

Thanks,

Steve
