Game lags when typing in a salary amount
I am posting this to see if anyone else is experiencing this problem.
When I am in contract negotiations the game lags very much when I type in numberes in the boxes. Instead of typing numbers in at a normal pace, I can type in the whole seven digit number and then have to wait 5 seconds as slowly one by one the digits show up on the screen. Needless to say this lagging is very annoying and I tried chaning settings and clearing out my system but I really doubt it is my computer. This happened pre and post patch btw.

It's done the same for me when it comes to entering in league and manager names as it changes it where you're typing as well as in another box.
Haven't actually made any player offers, so I couldn't say on that one. |

Very curious, as I'd like to try to duplicate this tomorrow night. Tell me how you built your universe, then ran it, and I will see if I can induce the same error. |

I've had the same problem with selected fields: Manager name (at start of game); League name (also at start); and salary negotiation (contract extension).
THis occurs no matter what the year, or time of year, no matter how long the game has been running at that point. It is the same on fresh boots of the computer, or after hours of use. And it was a pre-patch problem as well. |

Sorry to report back, but this is pretty snappy.
Can you get a screen shot at the point where it is laggy, with the task manager running on top of OOTP 2006? I am running AVG antivirus, Zone Alarm, Office XP, OOTP, and Trillian. 31 processes, 8% CPU utilization. |

I would love to post a screen shot but when I try to load the game I get a Fatal Application Exit saying "LEAGUE_STANDINGS_PAGE::create_page-invalid leage id"
So I decided to load a previous game, same thing, and then another and another, all crashing. Funny, I just posted about how the game hasn't crashed for me since I patched, call it hubris? I will try to re-create and get that screenshot posted.

I'm also getting lagging throughout the interface. I thought it was basically "everywhere" but as I take notes heres what I find:
1) All text entry boxes. Every keyboard press takes about a second for the cursor to move. 2) Between batters in play-by-play. 3) Anytime I use the menu to go to a different area that causes the 100% scrollbar thing to come up (whatever thats called -- a popup box with a colored bar that 'fills up'). It displays '100%' but the bar is empty. Depending on the screen, it can stay here anywhere from about 5 seconds to 72 seconds. Then the number resets to 0 and the bar zips along. Jim |

I get the same lag, and while I don't have a souped up new machine I have a pretty snappy one. It happens on the contract offer screen when inputting dollar amounts and also in the create screen when changing the name of the league you have added (i.e. changing the default Fictional Baseball League to whatever...).

I have the same problem as well. The lag isn't five seconds or anything, but it's about a second or so. This happens when either typing in the salary or pressing one of the 'plus' or 'minus' buttons.

Howdy folks,
I'm sorry for the awfully slow response to this thread. ![]() Obviously, some time has passed since you posted this issue, and the 1.0.2 patch has since been released as well. Are you still seeing this issue in the latest patch? Please let me know! Thanks, Steve |
